Julian Schlossberg, the legendary stage and screen producer, is back with his latest memoir, My First Book – Part 2: A Producer's Life Continues. Available in paperback, Kindle, and audiobook, this new release is a treasure trove of stories from Schlossberg's six decades in the entertainment industry. For film, television, and theater enthusiasts, this memoir is a must-read, offering insights into the life of a producer who has worked with some of the biggest names in showbiz.

Julian Schlossberg, a native of the Bronx, grew up with a passion for show business. From a young age, he was captivated by the world of radio and television, which sparked his imagination and set him on a path to a remarkable career. In a recent interview for the Savoir Faire Audio Experience, Schlossberg shared a charming story from his childhood:
"At eight years old, I managed to collect free tickets from local shop owners for events at the Kingsbridge Armory. After seeing stars like Buster Crabbe and Johnny Mack Brown, I sold the extra tickets and made quite a profit. That was my first taste of the entertainment industry—and entrepreneurship!"
My First Book – Part 2 is not just a continuation of Schlossberg's life story but a deep dive into the fascinating experiences he has had with friends and collaborators, including Mel Brooks, Charlton Heston, Warren Beatty, George C. Scott, Paddy Chayefsky, Elia Kazan, Arthur Penn, Mike Nichols, Elaine May, Zero Mostel, Woody Allen, Peter Falk, Jackie Mason, Danny Aiello, Eli Wallach, and F. Murray Abraham, among others. Written with humor and never-before-told anecdotes, the memoir provides a behind-the-scenes look at the entertainment industry.
"The more I shared these stories, the more people seemed to engage," Schlossberg said in our interview. "For me, these were just my recollections. But people seemed to be entertained. So I started to write these stories down. What was born was a new memoir."
The book features a foreword by Academy and Tony Award Winner Elaine May, with chapters by Emmy Award winners Marlo Thomas, Renée Taylor, and others, reflecting on their collaborations and friendships with this one-of-a-kind gentleman producer.
To celebrate the release of My First Book – Part 2, Schlossberg will host a private event at Sardi’s in New York City on August 13th. Elaine May will join Schlossberg in conversation, with special guest appearances by award-winning actresses Carol Kane, Lee Grant, Renée Taylor, and five-time Tony Award-winning director/choreographer Susan Stroman. This event promises to be a star-studded affair, filled with readings from the book and engaging discussions about a life dedicated to showbiz.
